All-Fandom, Cross-Fandom 48-Hour Color Drabble/Short Story Challenge! (And stuff.)
Anyone up for a 48-hour drabble challenge? Any and all fandoms, on my f-list or not? You just sign up here naming a color, and you have to work it somehow into the drabble/short story, either thematically, symbolically or literally. For example, if you pick "blue," you could write a story where Lex is depressed, or where Harry gives Draco a blue stone, or...Whatevah. If more than one person chooses a particular color, that's cool--why have limits? They're so limiting, as one of my favorite tv boyfriends once said. Just think what you could do with red, puce, amethyst, midnight blue, grey, silver... If anyone's interested, I'll compile the links when you're all done...
Surely I'm not the only bored one around...
Anyone?

Faith/Angel Rec Help, Please!
My baby sister (who's, um, 34) has become a Buffy fan, and wants to read some NC-17 Angel/Faith--nothing too sucky or sweet. (I've tried to interest her in slash, but she's all, "Where are the vaginas? I like vaginas.") Anyone have any recs at all?

Thought I'd do that "formative book" meme, though my choices aren't all fiction:
1. Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales
2. Le Roy Ladurie's Montaillou
3. D. W. Robertson's A Preface to Chaucer
4. Margaret Atwood's Lady Oracle, which has segued into her Alias Grace
5. Stephen King's The Stand
6. Jacques Derrida's Writing and Difference
7. Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber
8. Euripides' The Bacchae
9. John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi
10. Samuel Richardson's Clarissa
